Shaping the Future of Bio-Based Product Assessment
The transition to a more sustainable bioeconomy requires robust and harmonized methodologies to assess the environmental performance of bio-based products. While Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a widely used tool, existing approaches still face challenges in data accessibility, carbon accounting, and methodological consistency across industries.
Over the past three years, the Horizon Europe projects CALIMERO and ALIGNED have been working to refine and enhance these assessment methods in collaboration with industry leaders from the woodworking, pulp and paper, chemicals, textiles, and construction sectors. This event will serve as a platform to share key findings, discuss policy implications, and explore how these insights can drive more effective regulations and industry practices.
